Project members

Invite people to a project, choose their role, limit access to specific quizzes and paywalls, and remove members.

Members are the people who can work on a project besides you. Each member gets a role that decides what they see and what they can change — analytics only, quizzes and paywalls, or project settings.

Members are granted per project. Adding someone to one project does not give them access to your other projects.

Where to find members

  1. Go to Projects and open the project.
  2. Open the Members tab. It shows a short preview of the current members.
  3. Click Manage Members to open the full list (/cabinet/projects/{project_id}/members).

The list shows every member with their email, role, and the access granted to them. The person who created the project is marked with an Owner badge.

Plan requirement

Adding members requires the Advanced plan. On lower plans the button is disabled and the cabinet shows:

Adding members available in Advanced plan only.

To upgrade, contact your account manager or use the in-app chat. Members you already have keep their access.

Add a member

  1. On the members page, click Add Member. The Add New Member modal opens.
  2. Enter the person's Email.
  3. Pick a RoleAdministrator, Analyst, Editor, or Project Editor (see Roles below).
  4. Confirm. The member appears in the list right away.

What happens next depends on whether that email already has a web2wave account:

  • The person already has an account. They get access to this project the next time they log in — no new credentials are sent.
  • The person has no account yet. An account is created for them automatically, and the login credentials are emailed to the address you entered. The password is generated automatically — you don't set it and you can't see it, so ask the member to check their inbox. They can change the password afterwards in their own account settings.

Tip: Use the person's real work email. It's both their login and the address the credentials are sent to, and it's what everyone else in the list will see.

If you see Add your team members"Invite editors and analysts to collaborate on this project" — in the project checklist, it points to this same screen.

Roles

RoleWhat it gives
OwnerThe person who created the project. Full access, including members. Assigned automatically — you can't invite an Owner and you can't remove one.
AdministratorFull access to the project, including project settings and managing members.
AnalystAnalytics: dashboards, UTM reports, Users and Subscriptions exports, experiment results. Quizzes and paywalls are read-only.
EditorDay-to-day content work: quizzes, paywalls, plans and prices, experiments. No access to project settings.
Project EditorProject settings only — domain, default paywall, theme, legal data, and the rest of the project-wide configuration.

Only the Owner and Administrators can add or remove members and change roles. Analysts, Editors, and Project Editors can see the members list but not change it.

Limit access to specific quizzes and paywalls

Analysts and Editors can be restricted to part of the project. Their row has two access columns:

  • Accessible Quizzes
  • Accessible Paywalls

If a list is empty, the member has access to all quizzes or all paywalls in the project — including ones created later. To narrow it down, click Edit Access on the member's row and pick the specific quizzes and paywalls.

The other roles have no per-item access to configure: Project Editor rows show Project edit access, and Administrator rows show Full access.

Note: If you add a new quiz or paywall and a restricted Editor says they can't find it, open Edit Access and add it to their list.

Remove a member

Click Remove on the member's row. Access ends immediately, but their web2wave account and anything they built in the project stay as they are.

The Owner has no Remove action. To hand a project over to someone else, contact the web2wave team.
